“More than anything, I miss sitting on top of the land-rover, eyes peeled on the landscape, sun and cooling breeze on my face, sharing the excitement of our guides as we come across some beautiful animal. It is the setting for the ultimate family holiday… endless activities for kids, adolescents and adults – it caters for all adrenaline appetites – from tennis and gentle walks to find awe-inspiring views, all the way to huge rock jumps and galloping alongside zebra. Sosian is the best of the good life. I miss it!”

Sosian offers true adventure, an authentic safari experience in over 24,000 acres of wilderness, a stay here is truly unforgettable. Renowned for the extensive activities on offer including world class riding, informative walking safaris and fascinating game drives. The exceptional guiding and generous hosting though is what makes Sosian really special.
Mealtimes at Sosian are a real highlight…whether it’s a three course meal in the dining room or a bush breakfast under an acacia tree, we’ll keep you guessing where your next meal will pop out from! Our guests love to dine out in the bush and a candle lit bush dinner is a very special experience. We cater for all dietary requirements and offer child friendly options and early suppers for those needing an early night!
Today the original ranch house is now the centre piece of Sosian Lodge, made up of a large sitting room, dining room, bar and billiards room, with an expansive wrap around veranda, offering undisturbed views of the bush beyond. The bedrooms (eight in total) are spaced out across the lodge gardens as detailed below.
The Italian Cottage, so called having been built by Italian artisans post-war, is set apart from the other cottages, with its own private garden. The large bedroom with a king-size double bed and the airy en suite bathroom offers the ultimate comfort and privacy you’d expect from one of our luxury safari lodges.
The Family Cottage is perfect for the younger families as the double and triple rooms interconnect, giving peace of mind to parents and children. Both rooms have their own bathrooms, one with a bath tub and the other with a shower, to keep the whole family happy!
The remaining cottages each consist of a double room and a twin room each, making up 8 rooms in total. Each of our luxury safari lodges have their own veranda, where your morning tea or coffee is laid out, and all rooms are en suite with 24-hour power.
Also known as the imperial zebra, the Grevy’s is the rarest of the three types of zebra, and is found in good numbers across Sosian.
At Sosian we are passionate about food! Being so remote, popping into town is not always easy, so over the years we have nurtured our own extensive kitchen garden and have become largely self sufficient, growing our own salads and vegetables. We also rear our own pigs and source high quality, farm fresh beef, chicken and lamb from our neighbours. With these wonderful ingredients, our head chef has no problem producing wholesome, organic, home cooked meals throughout your stay.
Sosian employs over 100 people from our neighbouring communities to help run the tourism, cattle, conservation, anti-poaching and security. Many have been with Sosian right from the start.
